Navigating the albums-PLEASE READ THIS FIRST!

In each album, you'll see one or more pages of thumbnails. Each of those index pages will have zero or more page numbers. You can:

• click on a thumbnail to see the full-size picture;
• click on a page number to see that page; or
• click on the item that reads [Return to Albums page] to send you back here.

About the photos

I'm no photographer, and when we left for Alaska, I'd just bought my first digital camera. That's by way of saying, "Don't expect Henri Cartier-Bresson, Alfred Stieglitz, or Ansel Adams." But as I noted at one point, with scenery like Alaska's, you can pretty much point your camera anywhere and get an amazing picture. There are many such.

The captions

Adding captions and descriptions will be an ongoing effort. Don't be surprised if there are many pictures without captions or descriptions. That's partly due to my having to find out where the shot was taken, or similar data. It's also a function of there being so many =bleep=ing pictures.

What's here?

The albums are:

• pictures taken at my brother Don's block party in July 2003.
• pictures taken on Harv and Joyce's 40th anniversary trip to Alaska, August 16 through September 3, 2003 (part one of our Alaska/Canada trip).
• pictures taken on Harv and Joyce's 40th anniversary trip to Canada in August and September 2003 (part two of our Alaska/Canada trip).
• pictures taken at our friends Ruth's and Chris's wedding in October, 2003 (a native American ceremony).
• pictures not otherwise classified.

Can I copy them?

Sure, if you want to. But if you intend to print them, you should know that they've been optimized for viewing on your monitor, from the original 1200X1600 resolution and 24-bit color to 640X480 and 8-bit color. That's so they'll download to your computer faster. Enjoy!
